Electricity is my life.  In an earlier life, I was an avionics (aviation electronics) mechanic.  It beat working for a living.  In the trade, we were known as Coneheads.  Here is a little tip for the traveling public:  If you see a mechanic with a multimeter heading towards the cockpit, you probably have time to get some coffee.

It is only natural I'd just have to tweak the electrical system of my old Jeep.  I think I have electrons in my blood.  Lots of people are surprised to see I've kept the stock 6 volt system.  To me, it is a throwback to another era.  It is a fantastic bragging point to pop the hood and have somebody recognize the 6 volt battery.  Besides, the 6 volt system works just fine.  About the only drawback is the fact that I can't listen to my Wayne Newton 8-tracks.
